I love the vibrant cover and the pictures inside. The text is nicely interwoven and makes sure to bring in background information, memories, smells, flavours and mood to provide a multifaceted experience. The tale offers different points of view, generational and educational. The spelling shows an adult how to read the story aloud using an Indo-Caribbean voice but this would prove tricky for a beginning reader.
