I was really excited to read this book to my children and students. It is safe to say that the story, illustrations and characters haven't disappointed me at all. Remarkable illustrations and story line of a main character who has strong family bondings. Faruq is the main character and he takes us on a journey of his culture, family and delicious, yummy food of his land. He loves his gran's tasty home cooked food and when she is unwell Faruq knows how to help in the kitchen, how to make his grandma proud of him. The bonus in this book is THE RECIPE in the end. We read the book in a group and decided to bake these cookies together. It was fun activity and the best thing is we had yummy scrumptious treat afterwards. I would recommend this book to all primary schools specifically reception and ks1 classes this will give them a cultural peek to another part of the world.
