What a fabulous book to read out loud with preschoolers and yet has enough of a story to retain the interest of those who are just learning to read and could 'read along' with you. The illustrations are colourful and engaging, and the pace of the text is up beat and moves along nicely. The cover design, with its mix of flowing and carefree typefaces, just set the scene for the mood of the book and you can tell from the start that the message will be a happy one. The message of the story is also encourages people to do what they love and make others happy. It's refreshing to have a story which embraces and educates a specific cultural cuisine. The recipe for Lime Cookies at the end of the book is a real bonus and I will certainly be making some (I would have loved it if another recipe could have been included as well). This book has something for all ages and I would certainly recommend it.
