This is a colourful and fun book. My daughter loved it, for the pictures, the characters and the insight into a different culture. She loves to cook, especially with her grandparents, and the idea of learning to cook with an older neighbour really sparked her imagination. We loved the dialect, and the beautiful illustrations. We haven’t done the recipe due to my daughter’s allergies, but loved the idea of being able to cook along with the book. Maybe one day we’ll be able to me he them.
The children’s book market is quite saturated, but this is different to anything we’ve come across before and a great addition to our collection. We’d be interested in similar things, or other books from the same author and illustrator. My daughter often talks about wanting to be a chef, and this has definitely inspired her further with that dream. Highly recommended!
