This novel gripped me from the first few words. Parks cleverly stages the opening as a narrative from what I assume to be a killer's perspective, in which he uses 'it' pronouns to describe what appears to be a woman who he/she has just murdered. This immediately eludes to a level of mental instability and disturbing detachment from the horrific scene that is displayed. And there's nothing that interests me more than the damaged psyche of a criminal!
February's Son is a really intriguing title as well - and I have absolutely no idea what it eludes to, which draws me in yet further to the novel.
