I really enjoyed the character of McCoy and especially his banter with Murray. Realistic dialogue (well, to a point it would have been a lot more sweary in reality) without the accent being overwrought, just enough to give you a flavour without phonetically spelling every word which is a pet hate of mine. The writing draws you in and makes keeping reading easy.

However, this genre is one I have been struggling with for some time now and have become very jaded with. Every book seems to follow the same tropes and there really has been nothing new or surprising for quite some time. Despite how well written this is I fear it would fall in to this category too. So, I will give it a good star rating but I wouldn't actually go ahead and buy it.
