Set in Glasgow, February 1973. You are straight away introduced to our crime scene from the murderers point of view. It's a pretty gruesome picture but is written well. There are more passages similar to this throughout the book written in italics inbetween chapters.
I enjoyed this book and the writing style, it's pretty easy to read and the clear difference in character voice is done well.
Overall, for me, this book was a good 3.5 star read. Although I don't think its necessary to read the first book I do think it would give an insight into the main character, Harry McCoy and what he's going through in this book. I would definitely read the first one and recommend the series as a whole if you enjoy this genre.
