Parks's book was a captivating, gripping story that tells a story set in Scotland about an investigation on a serial killer. Despite the many gruesome and disturbing imagery, it did not put me off, as the plot was gripping. There were many moments were, the plot was fast paced, which added on to the suspence. Park's character development of the Harry McCoy was was also interesting. The way he juggled with the investigation and his own personal problems( his drinking problems and other matters from his past). His character portrayal is realistic which also allows the plot to move on nicely. Moreover this book was a sequel to another book, but it did not feel disjointed and can be read as a stand alone book. I am very much looking forward to reading the first!
