This is not my usual choice of novel as I don’t generally enjoy violent crime but I was hooked from the beginning.

Alan Park's style of story telling puts you bang into the action and creates a vivid picture and atmosphere. There is lots of blood and violence, some Glasgow slang to get your head around and a couple of nail biting scenes that made me turn the pages even quicker to find out what happened next, but none of these distract from the pace and structure of a really well written police crime story.
The setting of 1970’s Glasgow was evocatively described. The characters were believable, even if McCoy did manage to survive more knocks than most, and it screams to be made into a film.

I can’t wait for the next Alan Park’s novel.
