I really enjoyed this book. Set in Glasgow in the 1970's February's Son is a dark and gritty crime novel that gets your hooked from the first page. Harry McCoy is the "hero" of the tale, but he is certainly no angel. One of the things that I enjoyed the most about this book was the interactions between police and the criminal underworld, often crossing over more than they should.

This is the second Harry McCoy novel, it opens with a footballer found brutally murdered with a word carved into his chest. McCoy is left to solve the crime before its too late as its soon apparent a psychopath is on the loose.

The book is fast paced, dark and gripping. McCoy may not be the most likeable character but you can't help to side with him as he battles his demons.

Overall a great read, it really stood out to me amongst a slightly crowded market of crime fiction!
