This book was very reminiscent of a tv crime drama so it was easy to lose yourself in the story. This was also the first book I’d read by the author.

The books protagonist Detective McCoy is fighting his own demons when the bodies start piling up around Glasgow, and they continue to keep him awake as he comes to the realisation that he may be dealing with a serial killer. As rival gangs and a new drug emerge they start to wonder if these three things may well be related.

Due to it being set in the 70’s I imagine it’s a good snap shot of policing in times gone by so will be passing this onto my Dad to read too as I’m sure he’ll really enjoy it too. There’s room for many more in the series and I was happy to find out that this is the second in the series so will definitely be hunting down and reading the first.

If you like Angela Marsons then you’ll probably like this too.
