This is the second book in Alan Parks' gripping DI Harry McCoy series.
A gritty Scottish Noir crime drams set in Glasgow during the 1970s. The story begins with the murder of a Scottish footballer who is engaged to the daughter of a gang leader. The police realise quickly that they are at the mercy of a dark and sadistic serial killer. McCoy struggles as his past returns to threaten his present and he vows to discover the truth and serve justice, solving this investigation.

Alan Parks has written a gritty, dark and atmospheric crime story that holds no punches. It is gruesome and stomach-churning at times and the language used by many of the characters is most definitely not for the faint of heart. I found that this only made the characters more realistic and believable. The lines between right and wrong become blurred the more you read and more is revealed about our troubled mc's past.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and cannot wait to read more in this fantastic series.
