I thought I'll really like the book, but I haven't. I think it was more an issue with me than with the book itself. It was just very dark, but in a way that was making me upset. I didn't connect with characters and didn't really want to read more about them.
I haven't finished the book and I'm wondering if maybe it'd be much different if I read this book in the times that weren't so awful like Covid world in 2020. I don't need negativity in my life right now.
I'll definitely go back to the book in the happier times, because I've seen lots of positive reviews and people loving "February's son" and other books by Alan.
