The premis of the story sounds familiar. The novel is a gritty crime novel set in Glasgow in 70s with crimelords and gangs. It features a cop from the wrong side of the tracks with a tendency to take the law into his own hands. A horrific murder has been commuted with more to follow and the cop is on a hunt for the killer.
However the story is extremely engaging, it kept me guessing and I wanted to keep reading to find out what happens. I devoured this book in a couple of sittings. The characters are well rounded, I really liked the cop and found his character was so intriguing with him being pulled in different directions but always aiming for good.I found myself rooting for the cop and his friend's to catch the killer.
