What can I say this book was just so Scottish. When you read a book written in dialect, it can feel forced and manual. This read in flow. It was just so Scottish.
The story was one of intrigue and interest with turns and twists and hints left effortlessly throughout, never a dull moment.
The characters are interesting, they feel full and complete rather than 2D flakes and sprinkles. They have been curated to fit what they need to be obviously but they also can be placed into other circumstances. The author knows his character and writes them like old friends, cherished and close to his heart.
Overall this book was effortless, gritty and exciting, crime fans would be fools to miss it that’s for sure.
