Too far out of my reading comfort zone

This isn’t the type of book I’d normal read. I decided to try something new and unfortunately, it didn’t work out.

Parks writing style is very snappy and straight to the point. It’s a writing style that works for this type of book and it helped me get through around a third of the book pretty quickly.

After that, I realised how bored I was. Nothing was happening very fast and I realised I was just reading endless lines of dialogue. I really started struggling.

I found that I was mainly skim reading the latter half of the book, and even when things started getting interesting, I was still bored. I think the snappy writing style that eased me into it was also it’s shortcoming in the end, because there was nothing to it really, it was just boring.

The ending was good but not good enough for me to feel happy that I’d put myself through reading it.

*I was sent a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review.*
