I had not read anything by this author previously so did not know the detective. But after reading this I will certainly be looking out for me by him. It is set in Glasgow in the 1970s, a time and place I know nothing of! But it was so well written I felt like I was there. DI Harry McCoy is a tough detective and he’s up against a serial killer that carves messages into his victims. It was a page turner! I loved the characters and how their relationships developed. They were all tough, ruthless people making some scenes a hard read!
Overall it was really good, better than I had even expected. I’ve already researched more of the authors books. I’ll be on the look out for them as my next read this year.
