This is the last part of a trilogy telling eh story of Martha and her friends fight against an authoritarian regime that supports the haves and seeks to banish the have nots.
It is set in the London of the future and following the bombing of death row the authorities begin to build a wall between the Avenues (the haves) and the Rises (the have nots). Martha and some of her friends are on different sides of this wall and the plot of the book revolves around how they will continue the struggle.
I have not read any of the previous books but this did not affect my enjoyment of this book nor its ability to draw me into the plot.
