I felt a bit disorientated reading this and not sure if it was supposed to be bang up to date or set slightly in the future, with organisations I had never heard of appearing in more familiar settings. I also felt it was top heavy with detail on procedures and the backstories of the detectives, with a generally dark and unpleasant feel overall and no character I felt able to identify with readily.
