Gripping.
When a eminent civil servant is found dead after a masked protest, his injuries are like none ever seen before.
As DCI Kate Riley trues to piece together the his, what and why if his death; whilst at the same time battling problems in her personal life; her team, including DS Zain Harris unravel a complex web behind the attack.
This was a fast paced story which was well written with likeable and multifaceted main characters, and a plot line that was believable with no major jumps.
The idea of a new and lethal virus being used as a weapon was scarily realistic and I could easily believe that this is a story line which could have come from real life.
I like Alex Caan's style and would go back to read his first novel, as well as looking out for anything further he writes.
