I gave this book two stars simply because it was written well and has a storyline that I am sure many would enjoy. It's just that this book was not for me. It is very descriptive and gory, and it's subject matter was dark and disturbing, which I just couldn't deal with. Also, I didn't realise that this was a sequel: I think you can read this book as a stand alone in terms of the crime they're trying to solve, but there was definitely a main character backstory that I got a bit confused over. I would maybe try it again in a few years time but to be honest, I quickly had to stop reading it because it was just too much for me to handle. I do admire the writing style though so for that I give the writer two stars.
