I enjoyed reading Fit for Purpose because I am a fan of this sort of book. In fact I like any sort of self help book because some of them do have a few life changing suggestions that can be easy to follow. I certainly did pick up a few easy tips on how to make myself fitter while reading this book. The author does not expect everyone who reads it to take vigorous exercise and become fit as a fiddle overnight, but he does tell his readers how they can make small changes in their daily life which will make a difference over the course of time.
His suggestions of how to change include things that most of us can do without even trying. For example, he tells us the benefits of movement in our daily life. He also explains why we as a society are not as active and fit as previous generations have been.
Another thing I like about this book is the way the doctor tells us about his own problems , both medical and personal. This makes the reader get to know him better as a person and not just as somebody who is dishing out advice to the masses.
