Such a great book ! Timing is perfect as we are slowly emerging from lockdown. So many more people will be struggling with mental health issues. Personally, I gained quite a bit of weight and I believe other people did too, which is addressed in the physical part of the book. Spirituality is so often neglected in health books, but I believe it goes hand in hand with mental and physical health. It is whole body wellbeing.
As Dr Pile states “this isn’t a Christian book. It’s a book about wellbeing and what it means to live a life that’s fit for purpose, written by a Christian whose faith, life experience, and clinical expertise inform his understanding of these things.” This book isn’t just for Christians or people of faith, although I myself am a Christian.
The book works best if read from beginning to end but you will definitely get a lot out of it, if you dip in and out of chapters as they apply to you.
The book is very easy to read and not at all preachy. The author is easy to relate to and shares quite a bit with the reader.
Although similar in title to another book, it’s a different author and, in my opinion, a more relateable read.
