This book is a lovely book to share with younger readers. The repetition sees children quickly able to join in with the reader and build confidence to read the book independently. Basic number skills are tested and then mastered as the book is revisited. A wonderful book to bond over and develop number knowledge in the process.
The illustrations are beautiful. The animals carry expressions suited to the text which brings the characters to life. There is plenty of discussion to be had on every page and the interaction, through lifting the flaps, engages children fully with the rhyming narrative.
