This was a charming and whimsical read, I think it would engage the attention of quite young children as the illustrations are so vibrant and would be a great aid in encouraging a good reading routine that may also carry over to adulthood.
The story is all about a mother penguin who takes her penguin "children" on a walk through the woods one wintry day.
While out and about the little penguins start frolicking about and get lost in the snow so its upto the reader to help mother penguin to locate them all by lifting the little flaps on each page and counting them all.
When they are all found the penguin family have some fun and head home.
A simplistic story that is easily followable by young readers and is great counting practice too.
A fun and festive read which is great for this time of year.
A lovely tale to read with your child and speaks to the inner child in adults too.
