When the book arrived this morning, I just had to read it. It’s utterly magical. The characters of Mama Penguin and her mischievous baby penguins are adorable in a young readers singsong story book. The story is manageable and clear for much younger readers (3-5) and is plenty to keep them engaged. The added lift the flaps means that the child is constantly engaged and become part of the narrative. The tactile flaps keep the mystery and we also get to meet additional characters which make up a nice surprise too.
The illustrations are really wonderful. The detail is excellent and each illustration means that the characters and the setting comes alive. A really magical book for the festive season that I can’t wait to share with the tiny people in my own life. An excellent reading experience!
