Given I don't usually read historical fiction I actually enjoyed this more than I expected. It has a likeable protagonist, the writing had a nice flow to it which made it easy to read and you don't end up feeling bogged down by the story. The plot itself was not my favourite but it was interesting enough to keep me reading. It was a decent story that kept me interested and invested in what happened to Jenny throughout the book.
Overall I'm glad I read this book and decided to venture into historic fiction for once. Maybe I'll even steer more towards historical fiction in the future after reading this. Although if I do read more historical fiction I think it will likely be few and far between. It was a nice introduction to the genre though.
