I was initially drawn in by the cover and I loved the powerful imagery. The beautiful balance of stormy seas with the storm of human emotions. When I next found on that it was inspired by true events and was a historical fiction if honest I was a little hesitant and reluctant. The reason for this is that I have never read a historical fiction and it has been a genre that has really gripped my attention. I decided to step outside my comfort zone and give it a go. What I can say is the result was one of surprise. Even though the genre was unfamiliar to me I found that due to the writing style I was really able to enjoy the text. It flows really easily and was not to overwhelming. I’m not sure if it would be something I would buy but definitely has opened my genre tastes.
