My initial thought on seeing both the book cover and the inside illustrations was just how beautiful this book is! It portrays a magical and mystical feeling. Upon my initial readings of the characters from the first impression and blurb I am struck by how quirky and fun they are. I absolutely love books with unusual characters, they always manage to stay in my head for much longer than other books. The characters become like family. This sounds like a perfect fantasy read for this time of year! I can honestly say I’ve never before read a book that included a cherub. I am left wanting to know more about what happens to Cassie and the Cherub? What lies in the past for Cassie’s family? Are they safe?
