Cassie lives in a ramshackle house, on a tall rock, that has been fairly chaotically built over several generations of her odd family. Her grandmother is in her final days and her mother is an entirely self obsessed opera singer and, unfortunately, the present owner of their unique home. Cassie feels she must protect her home from her mother's whims and selfishness. Her father is barely a presence in her life.
