I loved the first few chapters!

I really like the fact the story is told in the first person by Cassie. She lives in Bavaria in 1900 in a strange house perched on top of a tall rock that stretches to the sky. Intriguing! I like the family members and their descriptions - an opera singing mother and an ill grandmother who taught Cassie Bavarian dances in the past. Cassie seems like an interesting, likeable main character.
A fledgling enters Cassie's life. I really want to know whether or not the cherub will be able to fly and why it entered Cassie's life. I also really like the jacket, beautiful colours and feather design.
