This is a Gothic novel set in Bavaria at the beginning of the 20th century. Cassie and her parents live in what sounds like an eyrie in the mountains. The first chapter has an almost steampunk feel about it as well. A cherub flies through the window, as cherubs well and we understand that the book will be about the reason for her visit. Cassie’ s only friend, Raphael is her only confidante. The blurb indicates that he is not what he seems, and it will be interesting to find out if his name is a non-too-subtle clue! Oh, and there is a as yet unspecified creature named Bram..to add to the gothic feel. I would look forward to reading this
