Some readers can be scathing about books for younger readers, but I have read many thrilling and enjoyable YA (and younger) books. This book certainly appeals to me.
The writing in the opening chapters is quite evocative. The detailed description of the tower took me there immediately. There are lost of questions posed in the opening chapters; the power of the mother's singing; the grandmother's illness; and the mysterious arrival of the cherub.
I hope i get the opportunity to discover how they all link to each other.
