I read this book in one sitting it was just a real page turner.
The world created is so close to our own but so very quirky. Really interesting side characters, the underlying themes in this book are about losing someone her grandmother and her failing health and dealing with family with mental health, in this case the fathers alcohol addiction and PTSD following war and her mothers isolation and coldness towards her. I felt the main character really blossomed in this book, showing her family and friend who is going through something that she supports him with and how love can really strengthen you.
The writing style was fantastic, such a page turner. There was a fair few plot twists and I absolutely adored the ending and the twists. I think the ending was done beautifully and the twist was just perfect.
