The cover of the book is interesting and would encourage a reader to pick the book up for a closer look. This is a fantasy novel set in a Bavarian forest. Cassie Engel lives in a very strange house, hard to reach as it is built on a mountain. She lives with her opera singer mother, her would be taxidermist father and dying grandmother. During a storm a cherub is blown into her bedroom and after that many strange things happen. This is a story aimed at younger readers I think. It is a quick, easy read with many strange events and characters including angels, killer birds and people Cassie had known all her life who are not what they appeared to be. Cassie had to face many dangers in order to save her family and her friend Raphael. There are several surprises in the plot and it is possible the author is thinking of a sequel to tell more about Cassie and Raphael.
