I loved this book! Totally different to the usual books I read but I was sucked in by the first page. I really connected with the characters especially Cassie Engel. She lives with her emotionally cold opera singing mother, her sick Grandmother, and her taxidermist father. I enjoyed how the story grew and developed while Cassie unearths her families secrets. Its got magic, angels and a Cherub, her best friend is not who he seems, thinking about it most of the character's are not who they seem and she lives in this amazing unusual house on top of a rock, with a room full of stuffed owls, which was built by her great great grandfather looking down into the Bratvian Forest. The ending was a total twist and not how I thought it would end. I feel like there could be more, more books more adventures and I would definitely get them as I am totally hooked. This is a fantastic first novel.
