The 'stormy day' vibes is so over used and doesn't make me want to read it any more than some autobiography written by Beyoncé. It just feels some ordinary, run off the mill book written by so many people. The mum doesn't pay attention to the child, a dad who come and goes doing something fishy for a living, a best friend who is actually using you or not who they seem. The main character has to go on an adventure all by herself to find out what is going on, to then find out everyone had a part to play. Surprise, surprise, I would've never guessed that. It just seems like a traditional children's book.

However, as much as I feel like this story has been written many times. The writing is absolutely spectacular. The attention to detail of the environment really does make you wait in anticipation of what to come next. And I do love descriptive texts as it makes you imagine the scene clearly (I just hope the whole book isn't all descriptive).
