WHO would be a freedom fighter when the almost inevitable end point is death on the battlefield or imprisonment in a jail of hell?
Joanna Polani was a recruit to the mercenary brigade of the Kurdish
militia.
Her mission of conscience ended in a jail in Denmark -- her own country.
What then was her journey?
Well, this is her tale.
The once substantive miltary threat of the Islamic State has left a swath of death and devastation in large parts of the Middle East.and central Asia
Though now on the decline on the battlefield, ISIS still poses an terrorist threat that battles for the control of the minds of those it can control in the West.
And it is this threat that makes Ms Polani such a vital read in understanding the very concept of the "jihad".
I shall hear her account either through Readers First or off the bookshelves itself.
But read it I must.
