Harrowing

Joanna writes very well and I felt, as a reader, that I could see the scenes she was describing. But then I wondered if I wanted to as they were so explicit and harrowing that reading this book is not escapism or entertainment. I know these stories need to be told but I am afraid to say that I do not want to read them
