Reading the almost painfully honest story of Joanna Palani and her background was a gut wrenching experience. It is a touching but never pretentious story of true courage and a desire to fight for the oppressed.
It can at times be almost surreal to learn about the horrors of the war if you have never participated in one yourself.
True heroism and a very fundamental look on good and bad is what helped this young heroin through the fighting. But who could be prepared for the fight against a preposterous Danish system criminalizing Joanna for fighting alongside the coalition against Daesh?
