Once a comfortable 22 year old philosophy and politics Danish student, in Autumn 2014 Joanna decided to leave her life behind and undergo gruelling military training to join a cause she and her family believed in, the war against Isis. Joanna also helped to train others and this pursuit.
On her return to Denmark, Joanne was taken into custody and even now still faces threats from the group she fought against.
