This book is around Joanna Palani who joined the international recruits to the Kurdish forces and its such a sad and emotional book.
She has written about her time in the war and how they would all be in their small area where they had be staying. It can be a bit gruesome at times as it was rather in depth of how many of them died and it was really interesting to find out how they managed to survive in these conditions.
The people are all struggling with the constant war going on and people having no food or health care. It does show how difficult it was for those who were sacrificing their lifes to defeat them.
