Have you ever been part of a 'circle' or 'gang' or 'crew'? Friends more loyal than family, ones who always know what each other is up to, even their thoughts, and have hung out together for years. Sometimes it's as comfortable as an old pair of shoes but sometimes it can prevent you knowing who you really are.

This novel keeps you guessing as you get to know all the crew both 'now' and 'back then' with secrets, misunderstandings and life choices floating to the surface. The crew met as children in a small Vermont town and most of them are still firmly anchored there. Our interest is mainly with Ruby (Tuesday) who left long ago and now lives and works in New York. Her visit home for Danny's funeral can't simply be an isolated episode as she becomes part of the crew again.

Kaela Coble explores and gradually reveals the dynamics of the crew in a very natural manner without the teasing attitude of the more deliberate thriller writer.
