This book is about a group of children who promise not to have secrets from each other and when they become adults it turns out that they have all been keeping secrets. I loved how all the characters interacted with each other through childhood into adolescence and finally adulthood. The story is about a close group who have not really been in touch with each other and who after ten years come back together for the funeral of their friend Daniel who has committed suicide. There is an envelope left for each member of the group exposing their secrets,which leads to more lies. The tempestuous love that Ruby and Murphy have for each other runs through the story, and the mistakes they make. I laughed and cried at this book, it was a beautiful story with strong characters. I couldn’t put it down.
