The first look left me a little unsure of whether this book would be one I enjoyed however from start to finish I really did love it. I really like the character of Frederick Troy and although this is the first novel I've read from this series and also this author I would definitely like to read the others. Troy is the lead policeman of murder investigations in London and his brother a politician. While on a trip in Europe with his family, Troy bumps into an old acquaintance who was a Russian spy during the war. As soon as this meeting happens things elevate into murder, infidelity, conspiracy and all the other key factors of a good murder mystery. The cover doesn't appeal to me but as previously stated it is well worth a read!
