This wasn't what I was expecting unfortunately. I don;t think its a bad book but it just didn't work for me. On that note, however, I might decide to give this another go in the future because I feel like I might like it more if I try a few months/years later. But honestly, I don't think I will.
I wasn't a huge fan of the writing style and not knowing that this was part of a series was which wasn't great either. Considering I'm so interested in the time period and had extremely expectations from this book, again, didn't help. I wasn't a fan of the characters either and this book was simply a book that I didn't particularly like but I don't hate it. I dislike it but I can see why others might enjoy this.
