I'm not one who usually goes for modern crime novels, but the way this story is written, coupled with my familiarity with the setting, makes me really intrigued to read this book! I grew up in the Western Isles and have travelled to Ullapool and Inverness frequently, so it was a nice surprise to read a story where I could really easily picture the setting. Monica is an interesting lead, and I'm looking forward to seeing how her and Michael's stories intertwine as the book progresses. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for this one.
