I did not find this book very gripping, as it was odd and quite distorted. I am usually a lover of crime novels, but this seemed to be unoriginal and not at all captivating. Throughout the book, it was
repetitive, making it very difficult to stay engaged. I would not recommend this book, particularly as a relative of mine, who had also read it, did not enjoy it either. It was incomparable to the likes of other crime authors, and I found that the stereotypical Scottish setting did little to set it apart from other books. I was very disappointed, to say the least, but perhaps I was a little harsh when I read it!
