Although I did enjoy this book, it felt quite middle of the road to me. There were some interesting twists and turns but the ending was a little underwhelming. I also feel the author missed a trick in not putting more time into the serial killer side of things. Although the revealing of the 'watcher' was unexpected, I don't feel that it really fitted the picture or made that much sense. It feels like they almost chose someone obscure in the book so that you wouldn't suspect it. I like Monica as the main character and I feel there is definitely lots of potential for character development in any future books. My main thoughts are that there are so many incredible detective and crime stories that you only want to be reading the best. This was good, but not truly up there with the best.
