A gritty, dark, creepy, cold, thriller, that definitely needs to be followed up with more!
Based in the Scottish Highlands, D.I Kennedy is on the hunt for a killer who has perverse ways of murdering people and a penchant for young boys. He believes that the universe is talking to him and a way of communicating is offering up young men. Running alongside this is Michael Bach, a social worker, who's missing client leads him to D.I Kennedy. Together they must race against time before the killer comes after them.
This is a great thriller, with a plot that is hidden in plain sight. I really hope that the author Halliday follows this up as the ending is very abrupt and has been left wide open for more.
There is also still so much more of the main characters back stories that needs to be uncovered. Halliday touches on this throughout the book and gives you just the right amount to keep you on your toes.
